Description
The HFV50 is a 50mm (2") Hansen Products Polypropylene Foot Valve/Strainer designed for the end of a pump suction line. It acts as a non-return check valve to prevent fluids from draining backward when the pump is shut off, completely eliminating the need for routine pump priming. Size: 50mm / 2" male thread standard BSPT (British Standard Pipe Taper). Delivers high volumes of water quickly with an unrestricted full flow rate exceeding 95% efficiency compared to traditional valves. Suitable for working pressures up to 16 Bar (1600 kPa / 235 PSI) at 20°C. Operates at a maximum temperature of 60°C. It operates via pressure differential using a flexible, self-cleaning diaphragm rather than a mechanical poppet. This means there are no mechanical poppet components to wear out, stick, or jam over time. Unlike standard heavy-cased valves that rely entirely on gravity to close, this spring-assisted design operates flawlessly at any angle or orientation (including horizontally or upside down). Built-in slots reduce fluid entry velocity, significantly lowering the risk of pulling in heavy debris or causing blockages. Built with an easy-access screw cap. You can clean or replace internal parts without cutting your suction line. The internal spring and diaphragm are completely interchangeable with a standard Hansen Check Valve of the same size. Manufactured in New Zealand using premium, non-corrosive, UV-stabilised glass-fibre reinforced nylon. It is fully approved for use with potable (drinkable) water.
